The military team tried to restore the balance as striker Ahmed Hassan Mecky sent a clear shot but was stopped by promising goalkeeper Awad who made a clever save.
In the minutes leading up to the break, both teams tightened their defense amid Ahly’s superiority as the Cairo giants fired off two successive missed trials by Emad Meteb and Abdallah El-Said before the whistle.
