Fiorentina secured Salah’s services during the winter window on an initial six-month loan, with the option of an extension for the 2015-16 season.
The Viola have since been impressed with the 22-year-old’s return of six goals and two assists in all competitions.
And according to reports in Italy, the Serie A outfit are hoping to make his temporary move into a permanent one, with a £13m price already agreed with Chelsea.
However, under the terms of the loan agreement, Fiorentina will have to wait until the end of next season before they can activate the clause.
Viola boss Vincenzo Montella recently praised the impact of the Egyptian winger since his transfer deadline day move, which involved Juan Cuadrado joining Stamford Bridge for £26m.
He said last week: “For now, we have benefited.
“We knew the superb characteristics of the player, but we did not expect him to have such an impact on Italian football.
“Perhaps only Messi is faster than him with the ball at one’s feet.”
