The Cairo giants will be hosted by the Tunisian team on 8 August in the fourth round of the CAF Confederation Cup’s group stage.
“The technical staff have decided to drop Ghaly and El-Said from the Tunisia trip, and gave them two days’ rest from training,” Ahly said in a statement on their official website, without disclosing further details.
“Football director Wael Gomaa also decided to fine the duo according to the club’s disciplinary rules,” the statement added.
The recent bust-up between Gomaa and the duo is reportedly the main reason behind the decision to drop the pair.
