Malick Evouna will miss Ahly’s friendly with Spanish side Getafe

Ahly’s Gabonese striker Malick Evouna will miss their friendly match with Spanish side Getafe. He will be away with the Gabon national team.

“Evouna has been called up to play for Gabon in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He is free to decide what date he joins their training camp on,” Ahly said in an online statement on Tuesday.

The Reds will be hosted by Getafe on 3 September as part of their preparations for the new season.

“The squad will travel to Spain on Saturday ahead of the Getafe match,” Ahly announced.

Ahly are already shorn of eight key players, away with Egypt’s national team. Evouna’s absence will heap more woe on Ahly’s frontline, with Ghanaian striker John Antwi recently sidelined for six weeks due to injury.
