We have no room for Gedo -Al Ahly
Al Ahly officially informed forward Mohamed ‘Gedo’ Nagy on Monday that hewill not be in the team’s squad next season, as the Reds intend to loan himout.
Gedorenewed hiscontracts with Ahly in July but the Cairo giants opted to remove himfrom the squad to open the door for the registration of international defenders Rami Rabie and Ahmed Hegazy, who joined the club this summer.
Ahly signed Rami Rabie from Sporting Lisbon and Ahmed Hegazy from Serie A side Fiorentina in an attempt to strengthen their defence for next season.
Gedo joined Ahly from Ittihad of Alexandria in the summer of 2010 after stunning displays in the same year at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he was the tournament’s top scorer with five goals, helping the Pharaohs win their seventh African title.
Despite having a good start with the Red Devils, the 31-year-old has been sidelined due to a longstanding injury, having undergone knee surgery last season.
