Zamalek SC teams to boycott Egyptian TV channels
Zamalek SC has announced a boycott of all TV channel members of Egypt’s Chamber of Audiovisual Media Industry (CAMI) in solidarity with the club’s chairman Mortada Mansour who was banned by the chamber, the club announced on their website Monday.
The CAMI announced that they have decided to ban appearances by controversial sports and political figure Mansour and boycott all his conferences and statements due to his “morale terrorism and verbal harassment.
Mansour, who is a daily guest on the Egyptian TV channels and known for his sharp opinions and expressions, started a new series of disputes last month against CBC TV anchor Lamis El-Hadidi regarding parliament elections coverage related to his son Ahmed Mansour- who has already won a seat.
The CAMI consists of TV channels CBC, ONtv, Al-Hayat, Al-Kahera Wal Nas, Dream, Mehwer and Sada El-Balad, in addition to media agencies Promomedia, Adline, Meda Line, and Future.
