Martin Jol in ongoing negotiations with Al Ahly SC
Ahly skipper Hossam Ghaly has revealed that he received a phone call from Martin Jol, his former coach at Tottenham Hotspur, asking about the security situation and the football scene in Egypt.
“I replied that the country is stable and football is developing,” Ahly midfield star Ghaly, 34, reportedly said Wednesday during his team’s training for the league game against Mahallah.
Jol, 60, is currently in ongoing negotiations with the two Egyptian giants Ahly and Zamalek, as both are being managed by interim coaches Abdel-Aziz “Zizo” Abdel-Shafi and Mohamed Salah, respectively.
Jol is a former coach of many European outfits including Scheveningen, Roda JC, RKC Waalwijk, Hamburger SV and Ajax.
He has been out of action since he left Fulham in December 2013.
