Martin Jol: “I have full confidence in my players”
Martin Jol is confident that his team can recover quickly after Monday’s 3-2 loss to bitter rivals Masry in the Egyptian Premiere League.
The Cairo giants wasted a chance to edge closer to their 38thleague title, but the former Tottenham coach is still confident that Ahly can bring home the title.
“We still lead the league table and I have full confidence in my players to continue our campaign towards the league title successfully. We only need four points from the coming three matches to ensure the league title,” Jol said in the press conference after the match.

The defeat blew the title race wide open as defending champions Zamalek edge up to five points behind league leaders Ahly with three matches left in the season.
Masry, who boast 52 points, jumped to third place after the win Monday.
“It was a difficult day as we made some mistakes that cost us an early goal. We also wasted a lot of chances against the goal while our opponents scored three goals from four chances,” Ahly’s Dutch coach explained.
“We need to improve our performance in the coming matches,” he concluded.
Ahly is currently preparing for their opening match against Zambian club Zesco in the group stage of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
