Elmo, Salah, Elneny, Kahraba & Ramadan join Egypt camp
The Pharaohs will face Congo in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, Egypt’s national squad is getting a boost at the training camp, thanks to a number of players based abroad. Among them are Hull City winger Ahmed Elmahamady, Excelsior Mouscron midfielder Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” and Ittihad of Jeddah winger Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ Abdel-Moneim.
The Egyptian national team will fly to Congo on Friday, in preparation for the first round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers group stage on Sunday 9 October.
“The Egypt squad will be completed when the remaining players, Mohamed Abdel-Shafi who plays for Ahly Jeddah, Basel’s defender Omar Gaber, Roma winger Mohamed Salah, Arsenal midfielder Mohamed El-Neny Stoke City forward Ramadan Sobhi and Braga’s Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’, arrive late on Monday,” read a statement on the Egyptian Football Association website.
Egypt coach Hector Cuper has named the 24-man squad for the coming crucial game against Congo, which includes 9 players based abroad.
