Mido will replace axed French coach Patrice Carteron, 46, who took charge of the team in January.
Former TP Mazembe tactician Carteron reportedly left Degla due to the club’s financial issues, amid the country’s foreign currency crisis.
Degla are currently ninth in the Egyptian Premier League table with 11 points from eight games.
