Zamalek will be looking to give a convincing performance and achieve a win in the first match under new coach Mohamed Salah when they meet rivals Ismaily in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday.
Salah succeeds Moemen Soliman, who recently resigned in the wake of chairman Mortada Mansour’s scathing attack on the team’s management following Friday’s 1-0 league home victory over Tanta.
The resignation of Soliman, who guided Zamalek to a 3-1 Egypt Cup final victory over arch-rivals Ahly, is his second in the space of just two weeks, having also resigned following another unimpressive 1-0 win over Masry ahead of the international break.
Soliman guided Zamalek to four wins and a single draw in five league games.
The Whites, who still have four games in hand, currently lie at the league’s sixth place with 13 points, 10 points behind leaders Ahly.
Ismaily, meanwhile, are tenth with 12 points.
