Ahly’s coach Manuel Jose Da Silva has denies all recent reports about his changing teams, affirming that he will remain with the Red Devils until the end of his contract.

“I am engaged with Ahly until the end of my contract, which runs for another season. All reports about negotiations between me and Portuguese club, Sporting Lisbon, are not true,” the 64-year old was quoted as saying by Ahly’s official website on Monday.

Despite the recent unrest in Egypt following the 25 January revolution, Jose expresses he feels secure with Ahly. “I never thought about quitting my job here. The atmosphere is satisfying and I have no problems at all,” added the former Saudi Ittihad Jeddah coach. Resuming the Egyptian league is essential, according to Jose, as he sees that the clubs will face financial crises as they will not find money to pay players’ and coaches’ wages.“Egyptians adore football and resuming its activities will be a delight for them,” he added.

Ahly’s midfielder, Ahmed Hassan, and striker, Mohamed Fadl, took part in Monday’s morning training session after a complete recovery from their injuries. The duo is now available for the game against South African team, Super Sport, in the African champion league next March.

Jose and his assistants went to the hospital after today’s training session to visit striker, Emad Meteb, who recently sustained a broken rib injury that will keep him out of action for six weeks.Meteb resumed full training in December after spending five months on the sidelines due to a back injury and began to cement his place in the team’s line-up by playing friendly games.
