Six Serie A titles in a row for Juventus!

Juventus have clinched their all-time record sixth Serie A title on the trot, beating Crotone 3-0 with Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Alex Sandro.

Juventus have become the first side ever to win six Scudetti in a row, following their win over Crotone this afternoon.

The Bianconeri previously shared the record with their own side of 1931 to 1935 and Il Grande Torino, who won five in a row between 1943 and 1949.

The latter would surely have won more, were it not for the interruption of the Second World War and their tragic demise in the Superga air disaster.

Inter have also won the Scudetto five times on the spin, but the first of those remains controversial, having been awarded to the Nerazzurri after the Calciopoli scandal.

Juve won the first of their six Scudetti in 2012, completing the season unbeaten under Antonio Conte.

The feat was made all the more remarkable by the fact that the Bianconeri had finished seventh in the previous two seasons.

The following campaign saw the Old Lady comfortably retain her crown, finishing nine points clear of Napoli.

It was in 2013-14 though that Juventus really started to exert their stranglehold over the Scudetto.

Conte’s side racked up an incredible 33 wins from 38 games, setting a record points total of 102. Second placed Roma had their best-ever Serie A season, and still finished 17 points adrift.

Despite that triumph, a frustration over transfer funds saw Conte walk away to be replaced by Max Allegri.

Nothing could upset Juve’s rhythm though, as they once again retained the title, this time while winning the Coppa Italia and reaching the Champions League final.

The departures that summer of Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal initially looked like derailing the Bianconeri juggernaut, as they suffered a terrible start to the 2015-16 season.

Juve earned just 12 points from their first available 30, their worst start to a season ever, and appeared to be out of the Scudetto race when they lost at Sassuolo on October 28.

What followed was a 25-match unbeaten run, with just one draw included in that sequence, and the Turin giants once again retained their title.

With the signings of Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain from Roma and Napoli respectively, the Bianconeri were always huge favourites this season.

Since going top in Week 3, Allegri and his men have only one relinquished their hold on first place, leading from Week 5 to Week 38.
