After the team’s poor results in the Egyptian Premier League, Smouha have sacked French coach Denis Lavagne just three months after his appointment.
The Alexandria side, who finished as runners up in the Egyptian Premier League last season, are suffering poor results during the current campaign as they are 15th in the teams’ table with 17 points.
The 50-year-old tactician and former Cameroon manager replaced Hamada Sedki last October. After the team’s poor results though – marked by ten losses in 17 match days – Smouha management to released him.
Last year’s cinderella team will play Ahly Tripoli in the first round of the CAF Champions League as they make their first ever appearance on the continental stage. As a result, management are searching for the perfect tactician to prepare the team well for the elite African tournament.
