DONE DEAL: Zamalek appoint former ENNPI coach Ehab Galal
Cairo giants Zamalek have reached an agreement with Enppi’s Ehab Galal to become their new coach, the Cairo club announced on Saturday.
Galal ended his Enppi contract after paying a buy-out clause, Zamalek said in a statement on their official website. Its amount was not disclosed.
“Galal will pen a one-and-a-half year contract with the club,” Zamalek added.

The 50-year-old will succeed Montenegrin coach Jovovic, who was sacked after some poor results dented Zamalek’s hopes of competing for the Egyptian Premier League title.
Galal will be tasked with turning around the fortunes of Zamalek after they lost four and drew as many games in their first 16 league matches of the season, slipping to fourth in the table, nine points behind leaders Ismaily.
He rose to fame as a manager after an extraordinary campaign with Maqassa last season, helping them finish runners-up to league champions Ahly to earn a historic African Champions League spot.
However, he resigned in the summer after falling out with Maqassa’s chairman over the club’s policy in the transfer market.
Galal took over at Enppi in October and made an instant impact, steering the club to six wins, four draws and only one loss in 11 matches, which came against title holders Ahly.
His first match in charge of Zamalek will be a mouth-watering Cairo derby against Ahly on Monday.
