Zamalek coach Ihab Galal resigned!

Zamalek coach Ihab Galal resigned from his post on Sunday after four months and 16 matches in charge.

The ailing Cairo giants slumped to a late 1-0 defeat by Maqassa in the Egyptian Premier League on Sunday, losing three precious points in their race to finish second and earn a spot at next year’s African Champions League.

The former Enppi coach told reporters after the game that he quit his post and that he “will not continue his mission with the club”.

Galal was named as Zamalek coach last January, succeeding Montenegrin boss Nebojsa Jovovic. He won seven out of 14 league games.

Under his guidance, the White Knights were also eliminated from the Confederation Cup round of 32 after losing 4-3 on penalties to Ethiopian side Welayta Dicha last month.
