Zamalek will face Saudi side Hajar in a friendly amid preparations for opener against Chelsea in CAF Champions League group stage

Zamalek are set to face Saudi side Hajar in a friendly during their preparations for the CAF Champions League opener against Ghanaian side Hajar on 8 July.
Hajar are currently holding a training camp in Egypt in preparation for the Saudi League championship.

“We will prepare for the Chelsea clash by facing Hajar in a friendly on 28 June,” Zamalek director Hamada Anwar told a television programme.

“Zamalek’s coach considers the Hajar friendly to be good preparation for the Champions League game,” he added.
“We will play another friendly against Ittihad El-Shorta before flying to Ghana,” the director concluded.

Early last week, the Whites were planning to hold the training camp in the Red Sea resort city of Gouna, but the players asked the technical staff to change the venue to the capital due to fears of post-election instability.

“Zamalek will play three friendlies during the camp to prepare for the group stage opener in the CAF Champions League,” said a statement on Zamalek’s official website.
Zamalek are scheduled to face Ghana champions Chelsea in the group stage of the CAF Champions League on 8 July.
