SALAH named in Egypt’s final 23-man squad | WORLD CUP
Egypt national team coach Hector Cuper has announced the Pharaohs’ final squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia excluding Braga striker Ahmed “Kouka” Hassan, while Liverpool injured winger Mohamed Salah has been included.
Egypt’s star winger Mohamed Salah faces a race against time to regain fitness for the World Cup after picking up a shoulder injury in Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat by Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on 26 May.
Egypt’s 23-man squad:
Goalkeepers: Essam El-Hadary (Taawoun, Saudi Arabia), Mohamed El-Shennawi and Sherif Ekramy (Ahly)
Defenders: Ali Gabr , Ahmed Hegazi (West Bromwich, England), Mahmoud “El-Winsh” Hamdy (Zamalek), Saad Samir, Ayman Ashraf, Ahmed Fathi (Ahly), Omar Gaber (Los Angeles FC, USA), Ahmed Elmohamady (Aston Villa, England) and Mohamed Abdel-Shafi (Al-Fateh, Saudi Arabia).
