Egypt drop 20 positions in the FIFA August rankings
After elimination from the 2018 World Cup’s group stage last June, Egypt dropped 20 positions to number 65 in the FIFA global football rankings that were published on 16 August, after being ranked 46th the last release.
Egypt made it into the world’s top 10 when they won three successive African Cup of Nations trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
France top the world rankings while Belgium ranks second and Brazil, who dropped one position, are third.
In other highlights from the August rankings, Russia made the biggest move after climbing 21 positions to place 49th in the world rankings, while Egypt dropped the most, after losing 20 positions.
