Liverpool eased past Wolves 2-0 at Molineux | Salah on Target!
Liverpool eased past Wolves 2-0 at Molineux to cement their place as the league leaders on the Christmas morning.
Mohamed Salah scored the opening goal and Virgil van Dijk wrapped things up with a finish of great quality.
In a lashing rain at Wolves, the Reds took the lead in the 18th minute when Fabinho picked out Salah with a clever cutback. The latter had a lot to do, but he made that outside of the boot flick finish look very easy on the eye.
The home side had a couple of sniffs before half-time with Jurgen Klopp’s men being sloppy in possession. Hence, a second goal after the break was a necessity for the away team.
They got that goal in the 68th minute during a second phase after a short corner. The initial ball in by Andy Robertson was cleared but Salah picked up possession and drilled the cross towards van Dijk, who finished it like a striker.
From then on, it was cruise control for the Reds.
