FIFA global rankings in February 2019: Egypt 57th
Egypts out-of-action national football team has dropped one position in this months FIFA global rankings, down to 57th place.
The Pharaohs are 8th among African countries, behind Senegal (24), Tunisia (28), Morocco (43), and Congo DR (51). They are 4th among Arab countries, after Tunisia, Morocco and Qatar.
Egypt’s national team, which has been out of action since beating Tunisia 3-2 in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers last November, will play their final African Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger next month.
Egypt will host AFCON 2019, which kicks off on 21 June, after original host Cameroon was stripped of its duties due to delays in its preparations for the expanded 24-team tournament.
Egypt made it into the world’s top 10 when they won three successive CAN trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
There were no major changes to this months top 10; Belgium remained on top, ahead of France and Brazil.
The best movers this month are Qatar, who jumped up 38 places to 55 after snatching the AFC Asian Cup, while the worst movers were Korea DPR (121).
