Pyramids will face 2nd division El Obour Sports in Egypt’s Cup tonight at Cairo’s Air Defence stadium.

Egyptian side Pyramids FC started their group stage campaign in the Confederation Cup in style as they claimed an easy 3-0 win over Zambian side Nkana at Cairo’s Air Defence stadium on Wednesday.

Striker Mahmoud Wadi opened the scoring in the second minute and winger Eslam Eissa doubled the lead seven minutes later.

Substitute winger Mohamed Farouk completed the rout with an injury-time goal.

Pyramids needed just nine minutes to go 2-0 up, with Palestinian striker Wadi slotting into an empty net after a blunder from Nkana goalkeeper Moses Mapulanga, who failed to collect an easy cross from a corner.

Eissa then skipped past three challenges before drilling home from inside the area to double the hosts’ advantage.

Pyramids looked content to sit on their lead, giving the chance to their opponents to control the game, albeit without a real threat.

The second half saw a number of squandered chances from Pyramids before substitute Mohamed Farouk ended the contest in stoppage time.
