Egypt set for Germany friendly

Egypt are set to take on Germany in a friendly exhibition on November 18th, according to Egyptian FA president Samir Zaher.

“Germany will pay the Egyptian national team € 200,000 to host them in a friendly game,” Zaher told Filgoal.com.

According to Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff, the match is part of the three-time world champions’ preparations for the 2010 World Cup.

The former AC Milan star told SID news agancy that the game will take place only if his country maintain leadership in Group 4 of the World Cup qualifying stage.

Joachim Low’s team are on top of their group with 16 points, four ahead of closest rivals Russia.

Germany also reached an initial agreement over another warm-up game with Chile on November 14th.
