Egypt’s Al Ahly SC new coach Pitso Mosimane will debut tonight in the Red Devils clash with the Arab Contractors (Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC) team in the 31st round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The match is set to be held on the bitch of the Cairo International Stadium at 20:00 CLT.

Mosimane, former coach of Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club, took up his position this week with Africa’s most successful football club which has a long history of coaches from other continents.

The 56-year-old South African coach announced the Red Devil’s 21-man squad for today’s clash, including midfielder Saleh Gomaa, who made just one appearance under Rene Weiler this season.

The squad also ruled out the Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi.

“I know the responsibilities of my work here. I know the pressures and stresses … but I’m a football coach, I’m trained to deal with pressures,” he told a news conference on Saturday.

Arab Contractors could give the 56-year-old a tough first test as they enjoy a fine season, lying fourth in the table with 52 points, five behind third-placed Pyramids FC.

Al-Ahly’s squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Ali Lotfi, and Mostafa Shobeir.
Defenders: Ayman Ashraf, Mohamed Hany, Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Shokry, and Yasser Ibrahim.
Midfielders: Hamdi Fathi, Saleh Gomaa, Walid Soliman, Amr El-Sulya, Aliou Dieng, Geraldo, Mohamed Magdy ‘Afsha’, Mahmoud Kahraba, Arabi Badr, Mohamed Fakhry, and Hussein El-Shahat.
Forwards: Aliou Badji and Marwan Mohsen.
