Defending champions Ahly face a tough playoff opener against archrivals Zamalek on the first matchday, followed by a crucial clash with league leaders Pyramids FC in the second.

BREAKING NEWS
Ahly reaffirmed their decision to postpone today’s highly anticipated derby against archrivals Zamalek, citing the Egyptian Football Association’s (EFA) failure to appoint a foreign refereeing crew. The club also threatened to withdraw from the Egyptian Premier League.
Ahly were set to face Zamalek as the away team in the opening match of the Egyptian Premier League’s title race phase. However, on Monday night, the EFA unexpectedly assigned a local refereeing crew, going against Ahly’s preference.
After an urgent board meeting on Tuesday morning, Ahly demanded the match be postponed until a foreign refereeing crew is appointed, warning that they would withdraw from the domestic league if their request is not met.
The EFA has yet to respond to Ahly’s latest statement.
