Aston Villa winger Trezeguet tested positive for COVID 19
Aston Villa winger Trezeguet has confirmed he has tested positive for coronavirus.
The Egyptian took to social media to confirm the news following last week’s announcement that Villa’s first-team bubble was hit with 14 positive Covid-19 tests. Nine of the positive tests were for players with five members of staff testing positive.

Here’s what Trezeguet posted in Arabic today, with Twitter translating it into English: “As God wills act After being hit in the head with 6 stitches, I was exposed to a tear and a hindquarters after some missed for a month, then after rehabilitation and the beginning of the return to group training, I was infected with the Coronavirus. Praise be to God for everything and may God heal every patient.”
Villa closed their Bodymoor Heath training ground on Thursday (January 7) after players tested positive again following further tests on Wednesday (January 6). Villa’s first-team squad were initially tested on Monday (January 4) with tests continuing throughout the week.
