The 61-year old El-Badry took charge of the national football team in September 2019; succeeding the Mexican Javier Aguirre.

Under the guidance of the former Ahly player and coach, the Pharaohs played eight matches, winning in five and holding to a draw in three.

Egypt already sealed passage to next year’s African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
