Ismaily 2-0 El Masry | Egypt Cup Match Video Review

Hosny Abd Rabo scored twice to keep Ismaily SC Cup dream alive.

El Masry had to play without their coach Egyptian Football legend Hossam Hassan.

Egyptian prosecution has ordered a four-day detention of the country’s all-time leading scorer Hossam Hassan, who is now coach of Premier League club Masry, after he had assaulted a low-ranking policeman following the end of a match on Friday.

An ugly brawl erupted following Masry’s 2-2 draw with relegated Ghazl El-Mahalla, which allowed Smouha to leapfrog the Port Said-based club into third spot to earn an automatic place at next year’s African Confederation Cup – the continent’s secondary club competition.

Hassan, Egypt’s record scorer with 72 goals in 176 international matches, was caught on video running after the policeman, who was holding a camera, before punching him in the face after the latter had fallen to the ground.

Local reports said that the policeman, who was not wearing an official uniform, is an interior ministry-affiliated photographer.

Hassan, who said he regretted his action, said he was provoked after the policeman had insulted him. His assistant Hassan Mostafa was also ordered be detained for four days.
