Egypt will face Angola away in the fifth round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on Friday, before hosting Gabon in the final Group F qualifier on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Egyptian team started its preparatory camp for the Angola and Gabon tests.

Egypt is leading their Group F, which includes Angola, Gabon, and Libya, with 10 points after winning three matches and equalizing in one game.

The seven-time African Cup of Nations champions need to claim three points from the coming two games to secure a place in the final qualifiers, as only one team in each of the 10 groups will qualify for the next round.

Coach Carlos Queiroz has announced a 25-man squad for the two games, including Liverpool’s winger Mohamed Salah and Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny.

Queiroz excluded Zamalek’s midfielder Tarek Hamed and winger Ahmed Sayed Zizo, but recalled Ahly’s striker Mohamed Sherif and playmaker Mohamed Magdi Afsha, who were cut from the squad in the previous two games against Libya.

Angola come into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Gabon last month. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alex Yowan scored late goals to guide the Panthers to victory.

Angola sit bottom of the standings in Group F and have just three points to show for their efforts in four matches.

Egypt are yet to lose a game against Angola. Both sides have clashed on six previous occasions and the north Africans have four wins to their name, while two matches in the past have ended in a share of the spoils.
