Al Ahly side will be looking to maintain their winning run in the Egyptian league when they face Dakhleya today.

The Red Devils clinched the Egypt Super Cup at the expense of archrivals Zamalek in UAE on Friday following a convincing 2-0 win.

They hope to maintain their rhythm as the 42-time Egyptian champions seek to regain the title won by Zamalek in the two previous editions.

Ahly made a perfect start of season with two consecutive wins over Ismaily and Aswan with an identic score 1-0 to earn maximum six points, three behind leaders Ittihad of Alexandria who played one match more.

On paper Ahly’s mission against Dakhleya seems easy given the huge difference between the two sides but they will play on Wednesday without five of their key players.

Tunisian fullback Ali Maaloul, defender Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, midfielders Aliou Dieng and Amr El-Sulaya due to different injuries.

Winger Taher Mohamed Taher who played a vital role in Ahly’s Super Cup win against Zamalek will also miss the game as he is serving a two-match ban.

It is not clear whether team’s coach Marcel Koller will lead the team against Dakhleya or not with several reports suggesting he is suffering from a common cold.

On the other hand, Dakhleya under the guidance of former Gouna coach Reda Shehata will be looking to earn a positive result against the Red Devils to improve their position in the league table.

The newly-promoted side lie 14th in the league table with a single point after their goalless draw with Talae El-Geish in the league opener.

They slumped to a 2-0 loss to Ittihad of Alexandria in their second game and they hope to avoid a second loss in a row.
