Egypt bids for 2022 World Cup!

Last Monday FIFA closed off its list of countries that have put forward their candidature for the organization of the 2018 or 2022 World Cups. The Belgian-Dutch candidature faces ten competitors: Australia, Egypt, England, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Qatar, Russia, Spain/Portugal and the United States of America. Egypt has presented itself for the 2022 World Cup only, as South Africa already organizes the 2010 edition.

All candidates are required to hand in their bidding dossier by the middle of 2010. Six months later FIFA’s Executive Committe decides which countries will be organizing the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
