Anfield will play host to the 25th Premier League fixture of the season as Liverpool prepares to face off against Manchester United. The rivalry between these two clubs is unparalleled in English football.
They are indisputably the two most successful teams in the country, with Manchester United holding the record of 20 league titles, while Liverpool boasts six Champions League trophies, double that of their closest English rivals, none other than Manchester United.
This season, Manchester United has undergone another transformation under the leadership of Erik ten Hag, and many now view them as serious contenders for the title, alongside Arsenal and City. However, true to the tradition of not directly competing with them at the top, Liverpool has once again fallen surprisingly low in the standings.
Klopp has confirmed that there are no new injury concerns or players returning from injury for the upcoming match. However, winger Luis Diaz (knee), midfielders Thiago Alcantara (hamstring) and Arthur Melo (match fitness), as well as defenders Joe Gomez (knock) and Calvin Ramsay (knee) remain unavailable. Midfielder Naby Keita is currently uncertain.
Alisson Becker is set to be in goal, with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate forming the centre-back pairing. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are expected to start on the flanks, while Fabinho and Stefan Bajcetic will start in the midfield. Captain Jordan Henderson will also be in the midfield. Attacking duties will be handled by Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez on the flanks, but Klopp will have to decide on the central attacker between Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Cody Gakpo.
