Al Ahly suffered a 2-0 defeat against Fluminense of Brazil #FCWC

Al Ahly suffered a 2-0 defeat in the Club World Cup against Fluminense of Brazil in Jeddah on Monday.

This marks the Red Devils’ sixth unsuccessful attempt to progress to the finals at this stage of the tournament.

Fluminense secured their place in the final with two goals in the second half. Jhon Arias and substitute striker John Kennedy scored in the 71st and 90th minutes, respectively.

Fluminense will now await the winner of the other semi-final between European champions Manchester City and Asian Champions Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan in the final, scheduled for Friday.

Despite a commendable effort from Ahly, their forwards’ inability to convert clear scoring opportunities proved costly.

Ahly will now face the loser of the match between Manchester City and Urawa Red Diamonds in the third-place match on Friday.
