Egyptian outfit ENPPI will entertain Cercle Olympique Bamako of Mali at the Military Complex Stadium in Cairo as both teams kick off the 1st leg of the first 1/8th Final of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup. ENPPI manager, El Badry considers the game a difficult encounter against what he calls quality opponents and to compound the current situation in Egyptian football.
“The competition at this stage of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup is always difficult; especially that this round takes place on two stages; the first against teams from the Confederation Cup and then against teams eliminated from Orange CAF Champions League. But for now we have to focus on the coming match despite the hurdles that we’re facing.” -El Badry said.
“We have our goalkeeper Ali Lotfy and midfielder Saleh Gomaa back from the national under-23 team camp in Costa Rica. My players are ready and I can say I’ve put my hand on 90% of the lineup that will start this match. But the bad news is that we lost Mozambican defender Mano through injury. This is very unfortunate for me because Mano is a key player, but I believe we will find the good replacement for him.” El Badry added.
