Two cracking first half goals from Mario Gomez sees Germany beat the Netherlands 2-1 in an action packed Group B game in Kharkiv. The Dutch started well and had more of the ball, but their finishing let them down.

Bayern Munich striker Gomez pounced with a deadly first-half double as the Dutch — ripped apart by rifts in the camp — disintegrated.
Although Robin van Persie finally found his shooting boots 17 minutes from time, it could prove too little too late for Bert van Marwijk’s men, who left the field with their heads hung in shame again.
Now the Dutch must beat Portugal in Kharkiv on Sunday by two goals and hope Germany triumph against Denmark to qualify.
