Zamalek earned their first win in the Egyptian Premier League’s final playoff after defeating Petrojet 2-0 at Alexandria Stadium on Monday to qualify for the African Confederation Cup.
The White Knights secured a spot in Africa’s secondary club competition after they finished third behind champions Ahly and second-placed Smouha.
Striker Ahmed Ali opened the scoring in the 35th minute before Hazem Emam ensured the win seven minutes from time.
