DONE DEAL: Saleh Gomaa joins Al Ahly

Egypt and ENPPI midfielder Saleh Gomaa officially signed a five-year contract with Ahly, the Cairo giants announced on Wednesday.
“Gomaa signed a five-year contract for LE7 million,” Ahly said in a statement on its official website.

Gomaa becomes Ahly’s third signing in the summer transfer window after securing the services of Ghanaian hit man John Antwi and Gabonese striker Malick Evouna recently.

“Saleh is a great addition to the club as he is one of the prominent footballers in Egypt now,” Ahly’s football sector manager Alaa Abdel-Sadek said after signing the contracts.

The 21-year-old Gomaa, who just ended his loan spell with Portuguese side Nacional to rejoin the petroleum club, has been chased by both Cairo rivals Ahly and Zamalek.

Earlier on June, Gomaa ended speculation about a possible move to Zamalek after confirming he initially signed a five-year contract with Ahly.

Gomaa joined Nacional during the 2014 season on loan from ENPPI. He made 30 appearances, scoring two goals for the Portuguese side.

The title-holders Ahly are second in the Egyptian Premier League table with 77 points, six behind archrivals and leaders Zamalek.
