Mido resigns as Ismaily coach
Ahmed ‘Mido’ Hossam has announced his resignation from Ismailys coaching post only three games after the start of the Egyptian Premier League.
The 32-year-old Mido took lead of the Dervishes at the start of the ongoing season, hoping to draw a new history with team but he suffered pressure from the Ismaily management and supporters.
“I informed the Ismaily management and fans that the team needs two years to win a trophy but they didn’t agree since they want to achieve it as soon as possible,” Mido told reporters on Monday.
Ismaily gained 4 points after three games in the Egyptian Premier League, losing one game to Dakhlya, a draw in another with Arab Contractors after winning the first game against El-Entag El-Harby.
Despite well start of the Egyptian Premier League season, the costal side lost 1-0 to El-Dakhlya on Sunday.
“I received angry messages from Ismaily fans since I only told them the truth–that the team needs two years to win a trophy,” Mido added.
The three-time Egyptian Premier League champions Ismaily failed to finish in the top three of the last season in order to be eligible for an African competition.
