Salah & Abdel-Shafi ruled out of Chad World Cup qualifiers

Egypt and Roma winger Mohamed Salah will miss the Pharaohs’ anticipated World Cup qualifiers against Chad on 14 and 17 November after being injured in his club’s 2-0 Serie A win over Lazio on Sunday.
The Egyptian star played from the start in the Italian derby before being stretched off on minute 58 after suffering a seemingly severe ankle injury.

Reports claimed that Salah could be sidelined for two months, but the medical scan is yet to determine the final situation of the player.
Egypt coach Hector Cuper called up Zamalek’s Mostafa Fathi as a replacement.

Egypt’s left-back Mohamed Abdel-Shafi has been ruled out of the team’s upcoming World Cup qualifying games against Chad this month after picking up an injury while playing for his Saudi club.
Abdel-Shafi was injured in a Saudi league game with his Jeddah-based club Ahli.
The 30-year-old is Egypt’s regular left-back and was part of their 2010 African Cup of Nations winning squad.
Egypt coach Hector Cuper called up Smouha’s full-back Ayman Ashraf as a replacement.
