Ramadan Sobhi “Ramadona” on target against West Bromwich
Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi opened his Premier League account, netting the third goal in Stoke City’s 3-1 home victory over West Bromwich on Saturday.
The 20-year-old ensured the win deep in stoppage time when he slotted home into an empty net after being fed by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who ran half the length of the pitch.
Sobhi started on the bench before being introduced with 11 minutes remaining, replacing Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.
His strike against West Brom is his second goal since he joined Stoke from Egyptian giants Ahly in the summer of 2016. His previous goal came in a 4-0 League Cup victory over League One side Rochdale in August.
Sobhi was booked after taking off his shirt when celebrating his goal against West Bromwich, whose starting line-up included another Egyptian in central defender Ahmed Hegazi.

“Sobhi was under huge pressure. He may have exaggerated his goal celebration but he is a very good player and he just needs to be calmer,” former Egypt great Mohamed Abou-Treika said during his post-match analysis on beIN Sports.
The Egyptian international provided two assists in 20 Stoke City appearances in all competitions last season. He has made 14 appearances so far this term.
