LIVE: Ittihad of Alexandria v Al Ahly | Egyptian League | FEB 4th 2018
A high-flying Ahly will be looking to extend their winning streak to eight wins in a row when they visit Alexandria’s Ittihad at Borg El-Arab Stadium on Sunday.
After arriving from Saudi Arabia, where Ahly played a farewell game of former Saudi Arabia skipper Fuad Anwar, the Reds are gearing up now for their encounter with Ittihad.
Ahly, nine points clear at the top of the table, should find no problem beating a 14th-place Ittihad side -who are just two points above the relegation zone.
Highly-rated Salah Mohsen, signed from Enppi for a record fee, has made the squad alongside fellow January signings keeper Ali Lotfi and Mohamed Sherif.
Returnee Hossam Ghaly, meanwhile, has been left out alongside midfield pillar Hossam Ashour – both omitted due to technical reasons.
Ahly will be continuing without his regular center-back pairing Saad Samir and Rami Rabia, alongside Egypt right-back Ahmed Fathi who are all nursing respective injuries.
As a result, manager Hossam El-Badry had to call up young defender Mohamed Abdel-Monem, as international Mohamed Naguib has made his come back from injury.
