Egyptian side Pyramids FC have parted ways by mutual consent with French coach Sebastian Desabre due to the team’s poor results, the club announced on Thursday.
Pyramids slumped to two consecutive defeats in the Egyptian League, as they lost to Zamalek 2-0 on Thursday before losing to bottom side Gouna 3-2 on Tuesday.
The club is now seventh on the league table with 12 points, six points behind leaders Ahly, who have two matches in hand.
The club’s sports director Hani Saeed expressed his displeasure over the team’s results earlier this week, saying that they were far below the club’s ambitions.
Desabre was brought in after he left Uganda in the summer, having helped them advance to the African Nations Cup round of 16 in Egypt.

But the squad he inherited appears weaker than last season’s when Pyramids boasted the likes of Brazilian winger Keno and Syrian striker Omar Kharbin, who was Asian Footballer of the Year for 2017.
Both have departed and Pyramids made some low-profile signings in the close season, which did little to fill the void they left.
Under Desabre’s guidance, Pyramids played 19 games. They won 12, held in four and lost three matches.
He helped Pyramids FC to top his group in the Confederation Cup round of 16, as the club makes his first appearance in a continental competition.
Former Ahly coach Abdel-Aziz ‘Zizo’ Abdel-Shafi will replace Desabre as interim coach until the appointment of a new manager.
