DONE DEAL: Sam Morsy joins BORO

Morsy signs a three-year contract with MIDDLESBROUGH and becomes thier third summer transfer after the arrivals of Grant Hall and loan signing Marcus Bettinelli.

The midfielder, 29, won successive promotions from League Two in his early career with Port Vale and Chesterfield.

He then moved to Wigan Athletic, captaining the team to the League One title in 2017/18 and winning the Latics’ Player of the Year award in the Championship last season.

Morsy, who was attracting interest from a number of clubs, will add further competition for places and bring added experience as Boro boss Neil Warnock looks to mold his squad for the new season.
