Zamalek, who didn’t announce the deal officially, reportedly signed a three-year contract with Primeiro de Agosto’s Papel starting from the new season.
After terminating the contract with the White Knights, Saudi side Al-Taawon, led by former Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron, announced on 7 October the signing of Papel and after less than a month the player left the team reportedly because there was no place for foreigners on the squad’s list.
Papel, who spent 18 months in Portugal at Sporting Lisbona between January 2017 and July 2018 before returning to his homeboy club, left a good impression in the African Champions League, scoring twice in 11 games.
