Al Ahly signs Karim Fouad, Luis Miquissone & Percy Tau
Ahly have announced the signing of Nogoom FC defender Karim Fouad on a five-year deal, South African left-winger Percy Tau on a four-year deal coming from English Premier League side Brighton and Mozambican attacking midfielder Luis Miquissone on a four-year contract coming from Simba SC of Tanzania to become the Reds’ 3rd signing of the summer transfer window.

Ahly have announced the signing of Nogoom FC defender Karim Fouad on a five-year contract without disclosing the financial details.
“The players signed the contract after concluding all the financial and managerial issues with his club and he will join the team’s training during the coming few days,” read a statement released on Ahly’s official website on Thursday.
Fouad, 22, who was part of Egypt U23 national team squad that took part in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, can perform in the two wings – right and left.
He played in the Egyptian Premier League with Nogoom FC in the 2018-19 season, making 12 appearances with the team before joining Enppi for two seasons on loan.
He made 53 appearances with Enppi since 2019-20 season, providing six assists.
Percy Tau
Now for the 2nd signing of South African left-winger Percy Tau on a four-year contract coming from English Premier League side Brighton.
“Percy Tau arrived in Cairo on Thursday and he agreed on all contract terms before putting pen to papers as he is waiting for the green light from Ahly’s coach to join the team’s training,” read a statement released on Ahly’s official website.
The 27-year-old winger Percy Tau played under the leadership of current Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane when he was in charge of South African team Mamelodi Sundowns FC where he scored 24 goals and provided 27 assists in 102 appearances.
Percy Tau started his professional career with the Sundowns in 2013 and claimed seven trophies with the South African team over five seasons including the 2016 African Champions League title and the 2017 African Super Cup.
He was named the South African League top scorer in the 2017-18 season with 11 goals.
Tau joined English Premier League outfit, Brighton, in the summer transfer window of 2018 season then he was loaned to the Belgian team Union SG who plays in the second division where he scored 13 goals and provided 13 assists to claim the best player in the Belgian league.
On loan again from Brighton, the South African winger helped Club Brugge to win the Belgian Super League title in the 2019-20 season where he scored four goals and provided six assists.
Percy Tau played tough games against Real Madrid and PSG in the UEFA Champions League wearing the jersey of Club Brugge before playing against Manchester United in the Europa League.
Luis Miquissone
The 3rd signing: Mozambican attacking midfielder Luis Miquissone on a four-year contract coming from Simba SC of Tanzania to become the Reds’ second signing player during the summer transfer window.
“Ahly concluded the deal with Luis Miquissone who arrived in Cairo in the past 24 hours and he is ready to take part in the team’s training sessions,” read a statement released on Ahly’s official website.
The 26-year-old Miquissone came under the spotlight when he joined Mamelodi Sundowns FC of South Africa in the 2018 season coming from UD Songo of Mozambique then he spent a short period on loan with minor African teams before joining Simba SC in the January transfer window of 2020 season.
Miquissone helped Simba SC to reach the quarterfinals of the last edition of the African Champions League as he scored three goals and provided three assists in 12 appearances with the Tanzanian team.
Al Ahly won the 2021 African Champions League title and 2020 African Super Cup as well as finishing third in the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup, but they lost the domestic Egyptian Premier League title to arch-rivals Zamalek during the final phases of the tournament that will wrap up this weekend.
