Qatar coach, Bruno Metsu has excluded Zamalek midfielder Hussein Yasser El-Mohammadi from the squad participating in the Asian Cup in Doha.
After Tuesdays training, I saw that the presence of El-Mohammadi is not helpful for the team. The coaching staff decided to eliminate him because we need our players to concentrate, the French tactician said.
Qatars national team have a hard clash ahead, as they meet Japan in Asian Cup quarter finals on Friday.
The 28-year-old footballer was angry about having only warmed the bench during two successive games, citing it as the reason for his loss of concentration.
Instead of anger, he should have shown better performance and concentration to join the starting eleven, team manager Abdel-Rahman El-Mahmoud said.
Yassers omission from the national duty may mean that he will be available for his club Zamalek, boosting their midfield in their day 15 league match against El-Intag El-Harby on Friday, while star Mahmoud Abdel-Razik Shikabala sits out the match due to suspension.
Zamalek are at the top of Egyptian League table with 31 points, five points ahead of their chasers, Ismaily and Enpi, and six points ahead of title holders Ahly who are in the fourth place.
