In the absence of multiple key players, Al Ahly will aim to secure a win against Coton Sport from Cameroon tonight at Al Salam Stadium, in order to maintain their chances of advancing in the Champions League.
Currently, Ahly holds the third position in Group B with just one point in two games, while Coton Sport is placed at the bottom of the group without any points.
In the rescheduled match against the Cameroonian team, which was originally planned for the first round of the group stage, the Red Devils will be without the services of several players. Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ Abdel-Moneim is fatigued, while Hussein El Shahat, Mahmoud Metwalli, Ahmed Abdel-kader, Amr El Sulaya, and Khaled Abdel-Fattah are all injured.
Nonetheless, Ahly’s Swiss coach, Marcel Koller, expressed confidence during the pre-match press conference that his team can still deliver a solid performance despite the absentees.
In the six previous encounters between Ahly and Coton, Ahly emerged victorious in four matches and settled for a draw in the remaining two games.
