On Thursday, Hussein El Shahat showcased an extraordinary performance by netting two astonishing goals, propelling Ahly to an impressive 4-1 victory over Zamalek. His remarkable display ignited a fervent celebration as Ahly secured the league title.
In the 45th minute, Ali Maaloul, Tunisia’s talented fullback, successfully scored a goal. Later, in the 92nd minute, Mohamed Sherif ensured the victory for his team. Zamalek managed to secure a consolation goal in the 68th minute, courtesy of Ahmed “Zizo” Sayed from the penalty spot.
Having already secured the championship, Ahly had deliberately delayed their title celebration until after the Cairo derby. This highly anticipated match marked their triumphant return to the domestic title, which had been held by their arch-rivals, Zamalek, for the past two years.
Ahly couldn’t have wished for a more auspicious beginning to the game, as El-Shahat swiftly unleashed a powerful strike into the top corner a mere 90 seconds into play. The team’s momentum continued just two minutes later when Mohamed “Afsha” Magdi came close to doubling their lead with a magnificent curling attempt that unfortunately struck the crossbar.
Shortly after, young defender Hatem Sokar displayed exceptional skill by making a crucial goal-line clearance, denying Mahmoud “Kahraba” Abdel-Moneim’s superbly executed chip ball.
El-Shahat continued to impress by capitalizing on the available space and launching yet another powerful long-range shot that eluded keeper Mohamed Sobhy, thereby doubling his team’s advantage.
Despite the absence of key players such as Marwan Attia and Amr El-Sulaya, Ahly demonstrated their superior quality against a disheartened Zamalek team.

In the 68th minute, Zizo narrowed the deficit by successfully converting a penalty kick after being fouled by Dieng inside the box. The White Knights faced their fair share of misfortune, hitting the post twice through shots from Zizo and a header from Senegalese forward Ibrahima Ndiaye.
