Ahlys Mauritanian striker Dominique Da Silva will undergo further scans to determine the seriousness of a knee injury he sustained during training on Sunday and his availability for the game against South Africa side SuperSport on 18 March.
Initial tests showed that the striker suffers a knee injury after picking up a knock during the 5-1 friendly victory over Saudi outfit Qadessya last week.
The 21-year old joined the Cairo giants last January from Tunisian side Club Sportif Sfaxien.
The Mauritanian striker is yet to make his official debut as the Premier League has been suspended since Januarys popular uprising that forced former president Hosni Mubarak to step down.
Manuel Joses strike plans have been torn up by the in-form strikers injury, as the Portuguese first striker choice Emad Meteb is also sidelined with fractured left ribs.
Ahly are set to face South African team SuperSport in the first leg of CAF African Champions League 32nd round CAF African next Friday at Cairo stadium, while the second leg will be played on 2 April at South Africa.
We are facing a big problem of studying the opponent as we dont have enough videos for them, Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz told Ahram Online on Sunday.
