Moemen Zakareya joins Al Ahly | Full Story

Ahly’s new signing Moemen Zakareya said on Wednesday he didn’t think twice about joining the Red Devils from arch-rivals Zamalek, with whom he excelled in the first half of the Egyptian Premier League season.

The 26-year-old madea surprise move to Ahly on Tuesday after Zamalek failed to make his loan deal permanent.

Zakareya left his parent club ENPPI to join Ahly on a five-year deal after ending an 18-month spell with Zamalek, where he scored seven goals in the Egyptian League to lie on top of the team’s scorers chart after 15 matches.

“I didn’t think twice before signing for Ahly,” Zakareya told Ahly’s official website on Wednesday.

“I met with Ahly’s football director Alaa Abdel-Sadek and we reached an agreement in a few minutes.

“I will do my best with the club to realize the ambitions of the club’s fans.”

The international forward started his career at Ahly’s youth teams before playing for El-Intag El-Harby, Masry and ENPPI.
